We checked 20 Kensington and Chelsea shops, from John Sandoe Books to Harrods, for opening hours, addresses and Christmas closures. Updated November 2026.
Kensington and Chelsea has 20 shops worth a Christmas shopping trip in 2026, and this guide puts them in one place with opening hours, addresses and what each one sells. John Sandoe Books, Graham and Green, Partridges and Harrods are the names most people land on. Every entry was checked against the shop’s own site on 5 November 2026, and we say where we could not.
We have not shopped at any of these for this guide, and nothing here is a review. Each entry says what the shop says it sells. Most hours below are the shop’s regular hours, so check before a special trip in December.
Dates for the Christmas shopping diary
The Christmas in Chelsea programme, from the Cadogan estate’s InChelsea site, holds most of the dates. Our pages on Christmas markets and Christmas lights have the full details.

|---|---|---|
| 12 November to 1 December | Firefly Festive Forest, more than 25 Christmas trees by artists and designers | Sloane Street |
| Thursday 12 November, 5pm to 7.30pm | Tree lighting, with carols and street performers | Duke of York Square |
| Saturday 14 November, 1pm to 7pm | Sloane Street Christmas Celebration | Sloane Street |

InChelsea says shops will add offers on the Festive Saturdays but had not listed them when we checked. We found no late-night shopping evening announced for the King’s Road, Sloane Street or Kensington High Street.

How we chose
We picked the shops people search for, using longevity, public listings, what the shop says on its own site and how useful it is for Christmas. We preferred independents, and included chains and department stores only where they are what people come to the area for. We read each shop’s own site on 5 November 2026. The Harrods and Harvey Nichols sites would not load for us, so their entries rest on search results and say so. We have not visited these shops for this guide.
